Prerequisite:
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN). In order to maximize
success, it is recommended that the participant have at least six months of
clinical nursing experience in an emergency care setting.
Course Description:
The
Trauma Nursing Core
Course
is designed for individuals taking
the course for the first time or just needing a renewal. Training in TNCC offers an opportunity to combine
previous training and experience with new up to date knowledge and skills.
This program focuses on the 6-step trauma nursing process and teaches a
standardized approach to caring for a trauma patient. TNCC provides
core-level knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with the delivery of
professional nursing care to the trauma patient. The content is presented
through lectures and psychomotor skills stations. The participant will
acquire clinical leadership skills to help impose calm, order and logic on
an often complex challenge.
