Prehospital Trauma Life Support
Prerequisite: Non-expired HCP Card Course Description: The Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support program is an intensive 2 day course that teaches you how to be prepared to handle trauma patients in the prehospital environment. This course is scenario based and will help you to identify mechanisms of injury, interpret signs and symptoms, understand pathophysiology, recognize life-threatening injuries, and hone your assessment skills to perform appropriate interventions that will increase the chances for your patient's survival. PHTLS is a nationally recognized continuing education program for prehospital emergency health professionals that focus on the care of trauma patients. The PHTLS philosophy stresses patient needs that require an approach to treatment which varies from traditional modalities. Recognition of successful completion is for 3 years. Materials Needed for
