Course Description:  The Geriatric Education for Emergency Medical Services program is a 12-hour course designed to enable EMS providers to better asses and deliver state of the art care to the elderly.  Topics covered in this course include:  Physiological and psychosocial aspects of aging; Geriatric pharmacology; communication; assessment; trauma; musculoskeletal and orthopedic injuries; cardiovascular emergencies, neurological and psychiatric emergencies; toxicology; abuse, neglect, dying and death.
