Course Description: The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens program is a 4-hour course designed for those directly or indirectly exposed to bloodborne diseases. This course covers modes of transmission, protective clothing, equipment and corrective actions to be taken in the event of contamination. Meets OSHA requirements. Your certification will be valid for 2 years.

Program must have a minimum of 6 students.

Program Objectives:

1. Approaching an ill or injured animal.
            2. Initial assessment, CPR, controlling bleeding
            3. Injuries to muscles and bones.
            4. Soft tissue injuries and wound care.
            5. Medical emergencies, poisoning and electrical shock.
            6. Environmental emergencies.
            7. Bites, stings, allergies, drowning, etc.
