Advanced Burn Life Support
Prerequisite: None Course Description: The Advanced Burn Life Support program is an 8-hour course for Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Therapists, and Paramedics. The course provides guidelines in the assessment and management of a burn patient during the first 24 hours post injury. This course is designed to provide fire fighters, EMT’s, Paramedics, LPN, Nurses, Etc, with the ability to assess and stabilize patients with serious burns during the first critical hours following injury and to identify those patients requiring transfer to a burn center. Class: Bring a pen or pencil, a note pad, and a lunch (if needed). Additional Information: Each year over 700,000 people in the US are treated for a burn injury. The quality of care during the first 24 hours after a burn injury has a major impact on the long term outcome. |
