Prerequisite:  Non-expired HCP Card

Course Description:  The Basic Life Support & AED – Instructor program consists of two 8-hour days which evaluates participant skills in CPR, AED, and FBAO on adult, child, and infant.  American Heart Association policies and procedures, teaching methods, and introduction to educational aids are introduced.  You must have an AHA Healthcare Provider card issued.   The BLS – Instructor certification is valid for 2 years.   There are two AHA manuals that are required one is included.  A teaching packet is provided for all participants.

Additional Information:

          - Attention New BLS – Instructors & BLS – Training Center Faculty -
American Heart Association (AHA) New Instructor and Training Center Faculty:
   -  Must be monitored by an approved Instructor or Training Center Faculty before receiving their official status and card approved by your CTC.  There is an official monitoring form from AHA.  The monitor needs to fill out the form and attach it to the roster.

* Red Cross Reciprocity: With current Red Cross Instructor card, student may come in on 1st day of new program at ˝ the cost.

* No BLS – Instructor Renewals unless approved by the BLS Coordinator.
